  • Peter Hawkins
    Peter Hawkins
    College Head of Sport

    As Head of Sport, Peter’s role involves leading and being responsible for the best practice delivery of each of the 19 sports which Wesley College offers. He works closely with each of the Head Coaches and Campus Sport Managers in planning our sport for now, as well as for the future.

    Peter has been involved in education for more than 20 years in a range of settings and has a Master of Education (Physical Education) from Deakin University as well as a Graduate Diploma in Special Education.

    He is a keen sportsman, having been involved in a wide range of sports from a very early age. His current passions are bike riding (road and mountain) surfing and generally keeping fit. He loves directing young people into activities that will hopefully lead to a healthy lifelong involvement in sport.

    Andrew Wildsmith
    Campus Sport Manager Glen Waverley

    Andrew’s role as Campus Sports Manager is to oversee and organise all sport at the Glen Waverley campus and he has been in this role for approximately three years.

    Andrew has also been a Junior School homeroom teacher at Wesley for 20 years and has previously been the Deputy Head of the Junior School. 

    Andrew enjoys a strong sporting background in cricket and baseball. He played 150 games of District Cricket, won the Ryder Medal in 1985 and 1986 and represented Victoria in the 1983/84 cricket season. He has played baseball for 25 years.

  • Jane Mitchell
    Jane Mitchell
    Senior School Campus Sport Manager St Kilda Road

    Jane attended Wesley College as a student, graduating in 1988, and went on to receive a BAppSC (PE) from Victoria University and a GradDipEd from The University of Melbourne.
     
    She has worked as a Physical Education teacher in the independent school sector for 15 years, firstly at Caulfield Grammar and now at Wesley. Originally appointed as the St Kilda Road Campus Sports Manager in 2003, her current role is Senior School Sports Manager and Rowing Administrator.

    Jane enjoys seeing students perform at their best and works hard to ensure that they make the most of the opportunities they receive, both on and off the field.
