    Hayne Meredith
    Head of Outdoor Education

Hayne joined Wesley in 1988, when Camp Mallana was initiated, becoming teacher-in-charge later that year. In 1991 he left to travel, but rejoined Wesley when he returned and in 1992 went to the Glen Waverley campus as a classroom teacher, teaching mostly Science and Outdoor Education.

He has a BSc (Hons) in Botany and Zoology, University of Melbourne and Monash University, Dip Ed in Science and Environmental Education, Melbourne State College and an MSc in Outdoor Education, Biology and Geography, University of Oregon.

Since 1995, he has been the Head of Outdoor Education and currently chairs the College’s Environmental Reference Group, is President of Barton-Crees Trust and represents the College on the Mallana Trust.

Hayne has two children currently attending Wesley. Wesley offers them, as it does for him, many wonderful opportunities to find and develop the interests and passions they can take through their lives.

He loves seeing children making vivid connections to the country we live in, rely upon and affect. We need to live within a healthy natural world.  Increasingly, a healthy natural world needs us, and our children, to be connected, considerate and careful. Our urban, indoor lives still need an outdoor education.
