Arts Precinct Redevelopment

We are creating a dynamic new space to inspire creative minds at Wesley. Situated adjacent to the St Kilda Road campus at Moubray Street, we are undertaking a redevelopment of the Royal Victorian Institute of the Blind (RVIB) building, situated at the rear of the Heritage-listed Ormond Hall.

Arts PrecinctThe redevelopment includes:
  • MYP design classrooms
  • 3D printing room
  • Senior School art studios
  • Dedicated photography dark room and studio
  • Sculpture and pottery
  • Staff rooms and meeting space
  • Art book library
  • Display/exhibition foyer with media screen

This is an exciting new adventure for the Visual Arts Department after 30 years in the Daryl Jackson Visual Arts Centre. The heritage-listed bluestone building features a tower, stained glass windows and large vaulted ceilings, all of which will be refreshed and revived into a new dynamic space to inspire creative minds, led by the team at FMSA Architecture.

Art, photography, 3D printing and sculpture studios will be complemented by multipurpose classrooms for Middle School and Senior School students, who will thrive in this unique studio environment.
