Massive results from the Boys and Girls Cross Country teams saw Wesley dominate the Victorian 2019 All Schools Cross Country Relay Championships at Jells Park on Saturday 11 May. Wesley entered eight teams, winning five races and finishing second in two. Congratulations to the gold medallists, Under 14, 18 and 20 Girls and Under 14 and 20 Boys; silver medallists, Under 16 Girls and Boys; and Under 18 Boys in eighth – every team placing counts in the effort to win Best Boys School, Best Girls School and Best Coeducational School. The strong relay results provide a good indication of what to expect from the Boys and Girls teams for the APS Cross Country season, with strong performances from both in the season opener on 4 May. The Girls dominated with an incredible 15 finishers in the top 30 – Wesley’s best result ever – with strong individual results and improvements from new runners and seasoned competitors alike. After winning a seventh consecutive Premiership in 2018, the performance augurs well for the 2019 season. The Boys likewise performed well, continuing where they left off after their third consecutive Premiership in 2018. The junior and intermediate Boys ran with tremendous enthusiasm, with many making their APS Cross Country debut.
