Astronaut visits Wesley

Wesley College is delighted to announce that Chris Hadfield, a former astronaut and an international sensation after harnessing the power of social media to make outer space accessible to millions, will be talking to 900 Middle School students at Wesley College, as part of his appearance in Melbourne for the 2014 Melbourne Writers Festival. “Good morning, Earth!” is how Hadfield tweeted online, waking up the world every day while living for five months aboard the International Space Station.


Called “the most famous astronaut since Neil Armstrong”, he continues to bring the marvels of science and space travel to everyone he encounters, and we are honoured to welcome him to Wesley.

Wesley College, along with The University of Melbourne and Monash University, is one of three education partners of the Melbourne Writers Festival, where Chris Hadfield will be opening the 2014 Melbourne Writers Festival. The 2014 Melbourne Writers Festival will connect writers and stories to celebrate a world of literature, explore universal ideas, and inspire a global community of readers. The program has launched featuring literary legends announced including Helen Garner, Sir Salman Rushdie, Maria Popova of Brain Pickings and Dave Eggers, there's something for everyone.
