International Student Senior School Scholarships

Wesley College is pleased to offer the International Student Senior School scholarship to NEW international students holding a full fee paying (500 Visa) and entering Year 10 or 11 in 2020. Students can choose to study either the International Baccalaureate (IB) or Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE).

FAQs

When and how do I apply for an International Student Senior School Scholarship? 

Please complete application forms and return by email to scholarships@wesleycollege.net prior to the closing date for consideration. 

Step 1.

Download and complete the application form and pay the AUD$100 application fee* via credit card using the payment form enclosed. (*Application fee is waived for children/grandchildren of Old Collegians) 

Step 2.

Attach the following required documents relating to the applicant; most recent school report (original and translated), AEAS test result (completed within the last 12 months), Copy of the students Passport, Copy of students 500 Visa and recent photograph. 

Step 3.

Scan and email your complete application in Adobe PDF Format to scholarships@wesleycollege.net (Please note the file limit is 20MB and that ONLY the most recent School Report, AEAS test, students passport, Visa and recent Photograph of the student are required at application stage. (Extra supporting documents will not be considered). 

Please note: No hard copy applications will be accepted. Also, please do not submit your application unless you have all the required supporting documents mentioned above. 

What is the selection criteria for the International Student Senior School Scholarship? 

International Student Senior School Scholarships are awarded at the discretion of the Principal to NEW International students holding a full fee paying 500 visa. 

The Selection Criteria: 

Foremost, students must have a strong academic record and are also assessed on a combination of the following:

  1. Sporting achievements 
  2. Participation in the arts (music, performance, fine art) 
  3. Leadership and community service 
  4. Demonstrated contribution to their current School and how they will contribute to the College

How many International Student Senior School Scholarships does Wesley award each year and what is each scholarship worth?  

Wesley awards a significant number of scholarships each year. The number and value of scholarships allocated is determined by the quality of applicants and the availability of places. Typically, Scholarships will be awarded as a 50% reduction of tuition fees (up until Year 12, based on an annual review). 

Does Wesley award full scholarships? 

No, Wesley does not offer full scholarships.  

Is there academic testing required for the International Student Senior School Scholarship?  

No, academic testing is not required for International Student Senior School Scholarships. However, we do need copies of the students most recent school report (original and translated), recent photograph of student, AEAS test result (completed within the last 12 months) and a copy of the student’s passport and Visa.

When will I be advised whether my child has been successful? 

Shortlisted students will be invited to attend an interview prior to a final decision to offer an International Student Senior School Scholarship. All applicants will be advised of the outcome within two weeks of their application being submitted. Interviews can be arranged via Skype or Zoom where appropriate. 

Can I apply for more than one scholarship type at Wesley? 

Please note that the International Student Senior School Scholarship is the only application available to International students holding a 500 Visa.
