Academic Scholarships

Academic Scholarships are awarded for students entering Years 5, 7 and 10 scholarship allocations are based on the results of an examination held early in the previous year, when a student is in Years 4, 6 or 9 and are offered up to a maximum of 50% of annual tuition fees.

To apply for an Academic Scholarship for entry to Years 5/7/10 in 2019 at the Glen Waverley Campus, please click on the link below and follow the online instructions. Applicants for Glen Waverley admission must sit the test at the Glen Waverley campus.

To apply for an Academic Scholarship for entry into Years 5, 7 in 2019 at the Elsternwick or St Kilda Road Campus, please click on the link below and follow the online instructions.

For entry into Year 10 at the St Kilda Road Campus, please click on the link below and follow the online instructions.

Applicants for either Elsternwick or St Kilda Road admission must sit the test at the St Kilda Road campus.

The registration fee for 2019 scholarship applications is $100.00. Late applications (received on or after Saturday 3 February) will incur a late fee rate of $250.00 ($100.00 registration fee plus $150.00 late fee).

Testing Day information: Once you have registered online, you will receive more information about the day closer to the testing date.

Results: Shortlisted candidates will be contacted by the College for interview. Unsuccessful candidates will receive notification once the selection process has been finalised (this process can take several weeks to complete) along with a copy of the test results.

FAQs

When and how do I apply for an Academic Scholarship?

Registrations open online via the College website from mid-November to early February in the year prior to entry. E.g. 2019 entry applicants will sit for the Academic Scholarship test in February 2018.

How much does it cost to register for an Academic Scholarship?

Registration costs $100. A late fee applies if you register after the application closing date.  

When will I be advised of the application outcome?

Shortlisted applicants will be interviewed prior to offers being made.

You will receive a letter and results of the test from the school directly within 3-4 weeks of the test. However the timing of notification can sometimes vary.

What if my child is unwell for testing day?

Please contact Edutest directly on 9014 1411 to discuss alternative options and please be aware that a medical certificate will be required.

Can my child take a practice test?

Will I receive my child’s test result at the completion of the process?

Your child’s test results will be sent to you at the completion of the process with a letter advising you of the outcome of your application.

Can my child apply again in the future if they are unsuccessful?

Yes, provided they will be entering Year 5, Year 7 or Year 10.

Can the school provide feedback on how my child can improve their application for future years?

Due to the high volume of test takers, the College does not provide feedback on academic test results, nor provide feedback on areas which could be improved.

Can I apply for more than one scholarship type at Wesley?

Yes, you are able to apply for a number of different scholarships at Wesley however, if you apply for the R.G. Menzies scholarship you cannot apply for a General Excellence or Middle School Expansion Scholarship. All applicants are only permitted to submit ONE Academic Scholarship application for ONE CAMPUS ONLY.
