Offers of a place at Wesley College will depend on the successful completion of the English Language Preparation Program and test to determine that an adequate level of English has been reached to successfully commence mainstream study.

English Language Preparation Program

The Wesley College Glen Waverley English Language Preparation Program provides classes tailored to prepare students for study at Wesley College with participation in College cocurricular activities including the Performing Arts and Sport. Students are supported by our outstanding pastoral care programs, specialist staff, Asian and English speaking coordinators and staff, tutors and student counsellors. Opportunities for students to develop a close network of friends support the transition to mainstream classes. The English Language Preparation Program classes are part of the normal College timetable and include attendance at assemblies and tutor group. All students have access to the College facilities including the Study Centres, Resource Centre, gymnasium, Science Laboratories, cafeteria, playing fields, Information Computer Technology and Visual Arts.

Once students have achieved an adequate level of English for successful transition to full time mainstream studies, they will be counselled to assist their selection from the large number of subjects offered, and continue to study English as an Additional Language (EAL).

Where a place is not available in the English Language Preparation Program, we recommend completion of an ELICOS program at one of the following:
